Worried about mass deportations? Ask your New York City Council member to OPPOSE Int 0945.

Seal of the New York City Council

Hey, friends. Yesterday Reuters photographed a terrifying crowd of delegates at the Republican National Convention waving “MASS DEPORTATIONS NOW” signs. Meanwhile, in explaining his plan to deport 15-20 million people, Trump explicitly cited Eisenhower’s reprehensible 1954 “Project Wetback” deportation policy, which deported US citizens as well as non-citizen immigrants. He’s also called for deporting student protestors. And he’s called for revoking birthright citizenship, which would allow him to declare millions of Americans to be non-citizens and deport them, too.

This isn’t academic. This is what he and his supporters are saying.

But there is always something we can do. Specifically, if you live in New York City, you can call your City Council member today and ask them to vote AGAINST Int 0945, a bill that would repeal sanctuary city laws that limit NYC law enforcement from cooperating with ICE.

We don’t need to give Trump’s ICE any more power to persecute or deport New Yorkers. Tell them NO on 0945.
