Huge congrats all ’round for the massive win in the midterms! This is almost certainly going to go down as one of the most significant US elections of all of our lifetimes — massive thanks to everyone who helped ensure a fascist lost anywhere!
But disgustingly, numerous Democratic candidates threw trans people and trans kids under the bus during their campaigns. Josh Turek, incoming US Senator from Indiana, might have been the worst, repeating bigoted anti-trans talking points in an ad in the final stretch.
So right now, the day after the election, I’m asking you to call or write your Democratic reps and demand that they publicly reject any anti-trans policies and statements that people like Turek might spout and stand up for trans rights – including trans youth health care, bathroom access, and the right to play sports.
We don’t throw anyone under the bus – especially not trans kids.

Hi, my name is ______ and I’m a constituent who lives in [zip code here]. I’m calling first to congratulate all of us on a spectacular win in the midterms! But I’m also very concerned that a bunch of Democrats, including Josh Turek, threw trans people under the bus during their campaigns. We don’t throw ANYONE under the bus. So I’m calling on you to publicly denounce the anti-trans words and policies of fellow Democrats like Turek and clearly state that you will not support any limitations on trans rights, including defunding of trans health care or anti-trans sports or accommodation bills. None of us are free unless all of us are free. Thank you.
