A neighbor in NYC shared this information with me — wanted to pass it along to anyone working with immigrants or anyone with an upcoming immigration hearing:
Hi all, as some of you may have heard, one of the latest tactics in immigration court is moving people’s court dates at the last minute to put them in dockets that are being called “mega masters”. If people miss these hearings they will immediately be marked for deportation. We are seeing dockets of over 100 people where only about 10% of people show up because most don’t know they have court. Please share this with any of your network or friends who might have upcoming immigration hearings:
